This Privacy Policy explains how Night Angler Media handles information in connection with the Night Angler Journal website. We are an editorial publication, and we collect as little as we reasonably can.
1. What we collect
We collect the content of any message you choose to send us by email, including your email address and anything you include in it. Our hosting provider records standard server logs such as IP address, browser type, referring page and timestamp, for security and reliability purposes.
We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not sell personal information.
2. Information stored on your device
The pre-trip checklist on our homepage saves your ticked items in your browser's local storage. That data stays on your device, is never transmitted to us, and is removed if you clear your browser data or use the “Clear list” button.
The moon-phase panel is calculated in your browser from your device's date. We do not request or store your location.
3. How we use information
- To reply to your email and, where relevant, to follow up on a correction.
- To keep the site secure, available and working correctly.
- To understand at an aggregate level which articles are read, without profiling individuals.
4. Sharing
We share information only with service providers who host or deliver this site, and only to the extent needed to run it. We may disclose information where required by law.
5. Retention
Email correspondence is retained for as long as it is useful for editorial record-keeping and then deleted. Server logs are retained for a short period by our host.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information we hold about you, or to withdraw consent. Write to us and we will act on reasonable requests.
7. Children
The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
8. Changes
We will update this page if our practices change, and we will change the date shown above.
